The ovarian adenoma cell proliferation syndrome refers to a group of symptoms and signs that appear in patients with a series of symptoms and signs of female masculinization, and has the pathological change of ovarian follicular membrane cell hyperplasia. This syndrome was first described as early as1949was described by Culiner and Shippel, indicating the presence of flavinized follicular membrane cells in the stroma, but unrelated to adjacent follicles. Subsequently, it was found that they often accompany masculinization. These diseases were originally included in 'polycystic ovary syndrome', but in recent years, due to the progress of steroid measurement methods and the clinical application of clomiphene, the diagnosis of this syndrome has been greatly helped. Since clomiphene is used in 'polycystic ovary syndrome' cases, it can cause ovulation (ovulation rate reaches75%), but it is ineffective for this syndrome. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish this syndrome from 'polycystic ovary syndrome'.
