1. Clarify the cause
Treating five-o'clock diarrhea as a syndrome is a concept in traditional Chinese medicine. Western medicine believes that five-o'clock diarrhea is just one symptom of elderly chronic diarrhea, and it itself is not a cause of disease, which can be caused by other various causes, such as chronic colitis, intestinal tuberculosis, allergic enteritis, and intestinal dysfunction. Therefore, when suffering from five-o'clock diarrhea, it is necessary to go to the hospital for examination to clarify the cause and then treat it specifically.
2. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment
There are many patients with five-o'clock diarrhea who have normal physical examinations, no bacterial infection factors, and most are intestinal dysfunction, which is called functional diarrhea in Western medicine. For this kind of diarrhea, taking traditional Chinese medicine generally has a good effect, and after a period of treatment, most can improve or be cured.
The preferred medicine for treating five-o'clock diarrhea in traditional Chinese medicine is 'Sishen Wan', a Chinese patent medicine composed of 6 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine such as Eucommia ulmoides bark, myrobalan, Evodia rutaecarpa, Schisandra chinensis, ginger, and jujube. It not only has the effect of nourishing the fire of the Shenshu acupoint but also has the functions of warming the kidneys and spleen, and fixing the intestines and astringing. Take 6g each time at noon and in the evening, which can achieve good curative effects, but should be taken under the guidance of a doctor.
Three, Diet therapy
1. Take 3-5 walnuts, eat them raw or roasted, 2-3 times a day, and after several days of taking them, abdominal rumbling, abdominal pain, and diarrhea will gradually improve. Continue taking for about 20 days can be expected to be cured. This method is especially suitable for people with weak physique and malnutrition.
2. Take an appropriate amount of ginger, wash and cut into thin slices, soak in vinegar for 24 hours. Use 3 slices of ginger and an appropriate amount of brown sugar to brew with boiling water as tea, and drink it regularly.
3. Take 50g of Euryale ferox, lily, and glutinous rice, add an appropriate amount of water, and cook into porridge. Add a little salt to taste when eating; or take 50g of lychee meat, 10g of yam, and 10g of lotus seeds, mix them, crush them, add water to cook until soft, and then add 50g of rice together, cook into a thin porridge with an appropriate amount of water. Eat it regularly at night with meals, which has the effect of stopping diarrhea.
4. Take 60g of Eucommia ulmoides bark, soak it in 500ml of wine for about a week, and drink a small cup every night; or take 10g of Eucommia ulmoides bark, a pair of pork kidneys (cleaned and cut into pieces), and boil it in water for an hour, season it, and eat it in 2-3 doses, once every other day, for several times, which has a certain therapeutic effect on diarrhea.
Four, Moxibustion method
Auricular therapy is performed at acupoints such as Shenshu, Tianshu (both), Guanyuan, and Zusanli (both). Mugwort is pungent and warm in nature, which can rescue the yang, pass through the meridians, regulate Qi and blood, and eliminate coldness. When it is lit, it has a fragrant smell and a gentle heat, is good at penetrating, and can make the heat reach the deep parts. Because mugwort is hot, it is not suitable to use it too much. Each time, half a stick or one stick of mugwort incense is enough, for 5-10 minutes per acupoint, once every other day or every three days. Ten sessions make up a course. Pay attention to the distance between the flame of the mugwort incense and the skin to avoid adverse reactions such as burns and blisters. After treatment, if the stool forms or constipation occurs, stop using it.
