1. What are the causes of the onset of shortness of breath
Mostly due to the weakness of the viscera and bowels, affecting the lung. The main pathological changes are in the lung, spleen, stomach, and kidney. Shortness of breath is different from real asthma, due to the weakness of the viscera and bowels, great injury to yuanqi, and 'asthma with qi damage'.
Shortness of breath should be attributed to the lung and kidney, due to insufficient essence and qi, and deficiency of both yin and qi, leading to the lung not governing qi and the kidney not absorbing qi. Therefore, the basic pathogenesis of asthma is the abnormal rise and fall, exhalation and intake of qi, 'in the lung it is excess, in the kidney it is deficiency'.
2. What complications can shortness of breath easily lead to
Shortness of breath is often a sign of severe and critical conditions, and simply reducing reverse gas during treatment often does not show significant effects. It is more common in patients with heart insufficiency. It involves various acute and chronic diseases, not only as one of the main symptoms of respiratory system diseases, but also due to the influence of other visceral lesions on the lung. Respiratory system diseases diagnosed by Western medicine include: asthmatic bronchitis, pneumonia, tuberculosis, emphysema, silicosis, chronic pulmonary heart disease, as well as respiratory distress syndrome, cardiac asthma, and hysteria caused by other systems.
3. What are the typical symptoms of asthma
Clinical manifestations include shortness of breath, asthma upon exertion. Lung deficiency patients often have deficiency of body fluid, and symptoms such as thirst, flushed face, irritability, spontaneous sweating, throat discomfort, red and dry tongue with little fur or peeled tongue, and thin and weak pulse, which can be seen in advanced pulmonary tuberculosis. Kidney deficiency patients have different types of Yin deficiency or Yang deficiency. Those with Yin deficiency have similar symptoms and treatment as above; those with Yang deficiency often have aversion to cold, cold limbs, and edema from the lower part to the upper part, pale tongue quality, deep and weak pulse.
4. How to prevent asthma
Radish is a food that consumes Qi and breaks Qi, and those with weak Qi and cough asthma should avoid eating it. Its leaves are commonly known as radish leaves, with the same effect as radish, and it is also a food for digestion and Qi regulation. 'New Reference of Pharmaceutical Pieces' points out: 'It is prohibited for those with Qi and blood deficiency.' Therefore, asthma patients should also avoid eating it. Its seeds are called radish seeds or Daikon seeds, and they have a stronger effect of breaking Qi and resolving phlegm. 'New Edition of Herbal Medicine' emphasizes: 'Those with weakness should take it, and it will be difficult to breathe out asthma.' Therefore, all asthma patients should avoid eating it, or asthma will be difficult to calm.
5. What kind of laboratory tests should be done for asthma
Laboratory tests support the diagnosis of Western medicine related diseases that cause shortness of breath and asthma, such as elevated total blood white cells and neutrophils in lung infection, or lung lines increased or patchy shadows on chest X-ray.
6. Dietary taboos for asthma patients
One, patients with asthma should, in addition to actively treating the primary disease, also be suitable for eating the following foods.
