1. What are the causes of phimosis
From a clinical diagnostic perspective, the main cause of phimosis is the unclean cleaning of the prepuce, leading to recurrent balanitis and balanoposthitis. Under repeated infection of the prepuce orifice, it will gradually narrow into a ring shape. Sometimes, when the penis is erect and the prepuce is flipped up, it may get stuck at the coronal sulcus, causing phimosis. In addition, many parents are afraid to flip the prepuce of their children for cleaning, which can lead to adhesion between the prepuce and the glans penis of the child, making phimosis more likely to occur. After phimosis, there may be severe local pain, redness and swelling of the glans penis, and edema of the prepuce. The longer the phimosis lasts, the more severe the swelling will be. If it is not treated in time, the prepuce and glans penis may develop ischemia and necrosis.
Firstly, for individuals with phimosis or elongated prepuce with a narrow external orifice, if the prepuce is forcibly flipped up and not returned in time, the narrow prepuce opening can be tightly trapped at the coronal sulcus of the penis, obstructing the blood return of the distal prepuce and the glans penis, causing swelling of these areas. This condition is called phimosis.
Secondly, phimosis often occurs due to sexual intercourse or masturbation.
2. What complications can phimosis easily lead to
In addition to its clinical manifestations, phimosis can also cause other diseases. If this condition is not treated promptly and effectively, the prepuce and glans penis may develop ischemia or necrosis, which should be highly emphasized by clinical doctors and patients.
3. What are the typical symptoms of phimosis
Phimosis often occurs in individuals with a small prepuce opening. When the prepuce is flipped up and not returned in time, it narrows into a ring shape. When the narrow prepuce opening is tightly trapped at the top of the coronal sulcus of the penis, it leads to prepuce edema, affecting venous and lymphatic return, causing swelling of the glans penis and prepuce, resulting in phimosis. When the phimosis lasts for a long time, due to the blockage of local blood and lymphatic return, it may lead to congestion, edema, and pain of the prepuce and glans penis, even ulceration and extensive necrosis, which can be quite serious. Parents should not be careless or negligent.
4. How to prevent phimosis
Phimosis can severely affect the patient's daily life, so it should be actively prevented. The best way to prevent phimosis is to undergo a circumcision operation, which involves the removal of the phimosis or the elongated prepuce, thus preventing phimosis from occurring again.
5. What kind of laboratory tests are needed for phimosis
Phimosis can generally be diagnosed based on clinical symptoms. If there are symptoms such as severe local pain, redness and swelling of the glans penis, and edema of the prepuce, it may be considered whether the patient has phimosis.
6. Dietary taboos for patients with phimosis
1. After the patient has undergone a circumcision, they should eat more green vegetables and fruits, and the postoperative diet should be light. It is recommended to drink about 2 liters of water every day. However, it is also important to pay attention to the method of drinking water. Drink more water during the day and less at night, otherwise, it will be very torturous to get up at night to urinate. Of course, you can also drink some cool and soothing herbal tea. Herbal tea can suppress sexual desire, reduce libido, and is beneficial to the healing of the wound.
1. Do not drink alcohol. Those who like to drink should resist the temptation of alcohol during the recovery period, as alcohol can dilate blood vessels, and drinking alcohol may cause the penis to become erect, which can lead to the rupture of the circumcision wound and bleeding.
2. Do not eat hot pot, chili, and other things for a month after the circumcision operation, and do not eat things that are too fishy such as beef, mutton, and seafood products. Seafood and spicy foods are highly stimulating, and if consumed excessively, the wound just after surgery may be continuously stimulated, which may cause inflammation and bring pain to the patient.
3. Men should avoid or reduce the intake of seafood and cold, spicy, and hard foods before and after circumcision, and the liver of animals must be thoroughly cooked, do not eat it cold. In daily life, try to avoid eating spicy and刺激性 things and keep the diet light.
7. Conventional Western treatment methods for phimosis
The purpose of treating phimosis is to restore the prepuce to its original position. The edema of the prepuce in the early stage of phimosis is relatively light and can be restored first by manual manipulation. It is necessary to realign the prepuce after phimosis as soon as possible, generally using manual realignment first. This realignment method can be performed by oneself, using the index and middle fingers of both hands to hold the prepuce, placing the two thumbs on the glans penis and gently pushing it into the prepuce, which can realign the phimotic prepuce. If the prepuce is phimosed for a long time and self-realignment is not successful, one should go to the hospital immediately and ask the doctor to cut the tight prepuce ring.
Method: After local disinfection, use a large needle to make multiple punctures in the prepuce,挤出水肿液,apply liquid paraffin to the corona groove, hold the prepuce of the penis body with the middle and index fingers of both hands, and compress the glans penis with the thumbs of both hands, pushing the glans penis into the prepuce sac to realign it. If the manual realignment fails, a prepuce stenosis ring incision should be performed. Surgical method: Make a longitudinal incision through the stenosis ring in the midline of the dorsal side of the penis with a small rounded blade, 1.0-1.5cm long, and suture it horizontally in intervals. Do not suture the incision if there is severe infection. When realigning the phimosis, if the situation allows, it is best to perform a prepuce circumcision. Otherwise, after the local inflammation and edema subside, a prepuce circumcision should be performed at a later date.
